Police: Gambling machines discovered at N. Charleston VFW because man had ‘medical episode’

VIDEO: Authorities confiscate gambling machines at VFW

CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - Police and SLED agents confiscated gambling machines at a VFW in North Charleston on Tuesday, but only because fire and EMS had responded to a man having a ‘medical episode’ earlier in the day, according to the incident report.

Officers responded to 4257 Spruill Ave. where they found three table top “Pot-O-Gold” gaming machines in plain view along with a gambling race board behind the bar, the report stated.

SLED officials say machines were also seized at that location back in March.
