SUMMERVILLE, SC (WCSC) - A photographer from Summerville is being sued by some families who say she ripped them off.

Mandy Clark's website features photos of newborn babies.

According to the site, Clark won awards for her photos for the last three years.

Jamei Mills' says her sister hired Clark to take photos of her kids.

"Her pictures are beautiful, they're very beautiful and I really love her style of photography and that's what I wanted," Mills said.

Mills hired Clark to take photos of her then two- week old daughter and her other family members. She bought a package deal.

"I'm trying to spend wisely and it came back to bite me in the butt," Mills said.

Mills says she paid in full. She says she was supposed to have three more sessions with the photographer, but that never happened, they were cancelled by Clark.

"I never said that I wanted to cancel. I wanted to schedule and she never replied to my need for scheduling," Mills said. "I am out money because my package wasn't finished."

Mills is not the only one who says she has been ripped off by Clark.

According to the Dorchester County court website, Clark is being sued by several people in small claims court.

"Go for it, do what you got to do. I'm sorry but those people are probably never gonna get their pictures," Mills said.

We went to Clark’s studio in Summerville and saw that it is no longer in operation and that the building is available for lease. We sent her a text message asking for a comment on the complaints against her.

“No I will not, not without the guidance of an attorney,” Clark texted back.

Mills hasn’t spoken to Clark since March. She says she has learned a hard lesson.

"For one, don't mess with Mandy Clark Photography," Mills said.

According to the Dorchester County Court website, at least one the suits filed against Clark is scheduled to be heard on Thursday.
