CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - Georgetown County schools will reopen to students Monday, the district announced.
Schools will reopen Monday on a regular schedule, district spokesperson Ray White said in a statement Sunday morning.
“Anyone who has issues with flooding or transportation will be excused,” White said.
On Friday afternoon, Georgetown County emergency management officials announced plans to close county shelters then being housed at Georgetown High School and Waccamaw Middle School at noon on Saturday. Officials said they would work with those in the shelters to ensure they had a safe place to return to after the shelters closed.
