CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) - Jarrell Brantley finished with 25 points and 12 rebounds and Grant Rillie scored 23 to propel Charleston to an 87-69 victory over Division II-member Georgia College on Sunday.
Brantley hit all eight of his shots, including three from 3-point range, and 6 of 7 free throws for his second double-double of the season. The senior forward, who has scored in double figures in every game this season, added five assists, three blocked shots and two steals for the Cougars (8-2).
Riller, who has topped 20 points in five straight games, sank 9 of 16 shots to help Charleston shoot 56.5 percent for the game. Zep Jasper and Nic Harris had 11 points apiece and Brevin Galloway scored 10 as all five starters reached double figures.
Kohl Roberts scored 14 to pace the Bobcats.
Charleston and Georgia College, the alma mater of Cougars coach Earl Grant, met for the first time. Grant led the Bobcats to back-to-back Peach Belt Conference titles and to the Elite Eight of the NCAA Division II Tournament during his senior season in 2000.
Marquise Pointer made his season debut for the Cougars. The senior guard sat out the first nine games due to an injury.
