Man arrested for murder after deputies find body in Williamsburg Co. house fire

CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - Deputies have arrested a 38-year-old man after deputies found a body in a house fire.

The Williamsburg County Sheriff’s Office charged Clint Walker of Kingstree with murder.

On Friday, deputies responded to a call for a house fire on Lattimore Avenue in the Mouzon area of the county.

Deputies found the body of 57-year-old Franklyn Brockington in a bedroom.

According to the sheriff’s office, an investigation revealed that Brockington was involved in an altercation with Walker before the fire.

Authorities say Walker is suspected of killing Brockington during the altercation.
