Coroner: No foul play suspected in inmate’s death

RIDGEVILLE, SC (WCSC) - An autopsy has been scheduled for a man who died at a state prison in Berkeley County.

Coroner George Oliver said the 62-year-old inmate died at the MacDougall Correctional Facility but that no foul play was suspected in his death.

The autopsy will be conducted in Newberry, Oliver said.

The identity of the inmate has not yet been released pending notification of family.
