NORTH CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) -A man was shot early Wednesday morning in North Charleston.

Officers responded to the 2600 block of Orchid Avenue just after 2 a.m. for a report of a shooting.

According to North Charleston police spokesman Spencer Pryor, an argument between a couple led to a woman calling her son to come to the house. A man and the woman’s son then got into a verbal argument, which led to the son presenting a handgun and shooting the man in the thigh.

The victim was taken to the hospital for treatment while the suspect fled the scene, Pryor said.
