COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) - The National Weather Service has lifted a tornado watch for South Carolina, although thousands remained without power after a line of strong storms rumbled through the state.
Duke Energy says more than 3,500 customers were still without power late Wednesday morning, about 2,900 in Greenwood County that bore the brunt of the heavy weather.
South Carolina Electric and Gas reported about 150 customers, mostly in the Columbia area, were in the dark.
There were numerous reports of tree limbs down, and the weather service said a mobile home was blown off its foundation in Laurens County.
A wind advisory for gusts as high as 45 mph remained in effect through 6 p.m.
