MT. PLEASANT, SC (WCSC) - Police arrested a Georgia man Sunday after officers say he exposed himself from a boat during a wedding.

Police say Downing Deese, 26, was in a boat on Shem Creek when he allegedly pulled down his swimsuit and showed his private parts to the wedding party and guests at Cottage on the Creek.

An attorney and advocate for the bride and groom told the judge other people on the boat with Deese screamed at him not to expose himself.

The bride's father told the judge he had just walked his daughter down the aisle when Deese ruined her wedding day. "They were exchanging vows and we had the disgusting experience observing this individual try to destroy our wedding," he said.

Witnesses told police Deese wasn't done after the ceremony. "Mr. Deese then dropped his pants again, showed his private parts to the reception," said the advocate for the bride and groom.

Police say after his arrest, Deese confessed and said he did it on purpose. According to the arrest warrant, Deese said the mere fact there was a wedding going on gave him the motivation to expose himself.

Deese is charged with indecent exposure. A judge set his bond at $10,000.
