Second suspect arrested in Edisto Island murder

CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - The Charleston County sheriff's office has made another arrest in a shooting death at The Pit Club on Edisto Island last month.

Police arrested and charged 28-year-old Arthur Lee Moultri of Hollywood in connection with the murder of Kavares Brown. Brown was shot and killed on June 18 at The Pit Club on 1467 Hwy 174.

According to an affidavit, police suspect Moultri was the shooter. A witness said he saw Moultrie exiting a Buick holding a firearm with a bandanna tied around his face.

This is the second arrest in this investigation. Kendrell Brown of Jacksonboro is currently being held in jail on murder charges. He was denied bond Wednesday.
