JAMES ISLAND, SC (WCSC) - Isaac Washington didn't like the news that came out of court Friday afternoon.

"I was hoping that I didn't hear that kind of news, I was hoping that this thing happened somewhere else," said Washington.

Washington had hoped he didn't have to answer any more questions about the apartment behind his house where Ethan Mack and Heather Kamp once lived.

After Friday's testimony by Kamp that might be hard to do.

Kamp told prosecutors Mack killed Kate Waring.  She went missing last year.

Her body was found on Wadmalaw Island last October.  Kamp says Mack tased Waring, struck her with a bottle and drowned her in a bathtub.

Kamp says the attack happened at a small apartment on Riley Road on James Island.

It's not 15 yards from where Isaac Washington calls home.  When he heard the alleged details of the attack he was understandably a bit shaken.

"That makes me feel very, very terrible," said Washington.

Washington said he didn't hear any commotion the night Kamp said Waring was killed.

He did however think he saw Waring hanging out there one night.

"I didn't know if it was her or not but she kept walking back and forth with a telephone like she was trying to call someone or argue with someone," said Washington.

Washington owns the apartment and rented it to Ethan Mack's father.  He said Mack's father moved out and Mack, and eventually Kamp moved in.

When he heard the details of how Waring supposedly died he found it hard to believe Mack did it.

"He didn't seem like the type but I won't put anything past that girl.  The short time I knew her she didn't take talk back from no one," said Washington.

Tonight Kamp is facing up to 45 years in prison and pointing the finger at the man who she once called her boyfriend.
