Details Into Mohammed's Plea Agreement

Posted: Updated:

One of the Egyptian nationals arrested by Berkeley County Sheriff's deputies last august will plead guilty to a terrorism charge.

A Berkeley County officer says it vindicates them from allegations of racial profiling.

Ahmed Mohammed is pleading guilty to a charge that he provided support to terrorists. Mohamed's lawyer says even though this was an agonizing decision for his family, they wanted to avoid the possibility of life in prison.

The U.S. Attorney's office is now offering a maximum of 15 years in prison in exchange for the guilty plea. Mohamed signed documents admitting to posting a video on You-Tube showing Muslim suicide bombers how to rig a remote control toy to blow up a charge, which would save them to, "continue fighting infidels."

Mohammed admitted the purpose of the video was to "murder employees of the United States, including members of the uniformed services,".

The paperwork says he considers members of the U.S. Military in Arab countries to be "invaders". Mohammed and Youseff Megahed were picked up near the Naval Weapons Station in Goose Creek.
