
CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - The City of Charleston shared the results of a new federal report on the Sofa Super Store fire Thursday afternoon.
The final report from NIOSH, the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health, makes 43 recommendations. According to Chief Thomas Carr, almost all of the recommendations have been met by the Charleston Fire Department.
Nine firefighters were killed in the line of duty when fire burned down the Sofa Super Store on Savannah Highway in West Ashley two years ago.
