  • CT scans help diagnose broken bones, but also blood clots and internal bleeding. During a CT scan, you lie still on the table as it passes through a large X-ray machine. CT scans are painless.

  • The physician may select ultrasound to view the heart, kidneys, liver or fetus in a pregnant woman. Ultrasound does not involve radiation exposure and is a completely safe and comfortable procedure.

  • Vascular ultrasound provides pictures of the body's veins and arteries. Vascular studies and ultrasounds evaluate signs and symptoms of decreased blood flow. During the procedure, you need to lie still. Patients rarely experience discomfort.

  • Lab Services

  • Our Hematology Department performs numerous tests on blood. The most commonly performed is the complete blood count (CBC), also known as full blood count (FBC). Blood is drawn by a Phlebotomy Technician whose skill produces minimal discomfort.

  • Blood chemistry tests are commonly ordered before surgery or general health exams. This test analyzes various substances found in the blood. Patients should expect the slight discomfort of a blood draw.

  • There are two types of pregnancy tests: urine and blood. Both tests detect the presence of a hormone called human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG) that indicates a woman is pregnant.

Nason Medical Center has physicians that are Board Certified in Emergency Medicine and state-of-the-art trauma equipment available to handle any emergency. Nason Medical Center provides medical care for a fraction of the cost of an ER visit. There is no need for an appointment, walk-ins are always welcome.

As he worked, he experienced an epiphany that turned into his vision of what you experience today. When the first Nason Medical Center opened its doors in Mount Pleasant, SC on January 24, 2005, it also opened the doors to prompt, compassionate, specialized care for accidents, injuries and sudden illness.
