Charleston Allergy and Asthma, a board-certified allergy practice with locations in Mount Pleasant, Summerville and West Ashley, announced that Charleston, Berkeley and Dorchester County are experiencing high pollen counts. The allergy practice is one of only three certified pollen-counting stations in South Carolina.
The pollen count indicates the number of grains of pollen in a cubic meter of air. The higher the number, the more pollen there is in the air.
This report uses a scale of 1 to 12: A low pollen count would be between 0 and 3, a moderate count would be between 4 and 6, a high count is between 7 and 9, and a very high pollen count is between 10 and 12.
