Georgetown County, SC -

GEORGETOWN COUNTY, SC (WMBF) – Tests confirm a dog brought to St. Frances Animal Center had a severe case of Kennel Cough, according to officials who work there.

Mandy Johnson, spokeswoman for St. Frances, said other animals began falling ill after the infected dog was brought to the shelter, which prompted a quarantine on Thursday.

St. Francis officials say after consulting with their vet, they will reopen on July 5 at 11 a.m.
