SUMMERVILLE, SC (WCSC) - The Dorchester County sheriff's office arrested a woman after she allegedly ran over a man who was hired to repossess her car.

Witnesses said she struck the man twice with her car while trying to flee.

Juanima Taniqua Porter, 32, of Summerville was detained by Dorchester County deputies early Wednesday morning in connection with an incident that occurred in the parking lot at Timber Lane Town Homes on Trolley Road.

She is charged with attempted murder and is being held on a $500,000 bond.

Around midnight, the victim, 32-year-old Vincent Sclafani, was attempting to repossess Porter's roommate's car when deputies say she got in it, started it and then attempted to flee.

Witnesses said she twice made contact with the victim who was standing in front of the car. The second time Sclafani ended up on the hood and witnesses said he was last seen clinging to the hood as Porter was turning right onto Trolley Road.

Minutes later, the victim was found on Trolley Road dazed and confused. He had trouble talking and could not remember what happened or where he was.

Sclafani's boss said his employee suffered a skull fracture and was taken to the Medical University of South Carolina.

"Currently he thinks it's 2004," said Dan Wiggins, owner of Coastal Recovery Service. "He doesn't recognize his children, doesn't recognize his father."

A background check shows Porter was convicted of unlawful use of a telephone and simple assault in 2000. Earlier this year, she was arrested for public disorderly conduct.
