Ravenel released from halfway house, set to serve out his sentence under house arrest

NORTH CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - Live 5 News has learned that former state treasurer Thomas Ravenel is out of the North Charleston halfway house.

Ravenel was transferred to his home today, where he will remain under house arrest until March 27. He will only be able to leave for work.

In 2007, Ravenel pleaded guilty to conspiracy to distribute cocaine and was sentenced to ten months in prison.
