(WCSC) MT. PLEASANT - When money gets tight, Clayton Woodson, of Abundatrade, says many people don't realize the goldmine that's sitting in a box, under their bed. Since most music is stored electronically...good old fashioned CD's can easily be forgotten
"A lot of people think if it's on a computer it's not worth anything but they can turn it into cash", Woodson said.
Abundatrade in Mt. Pleasant takes the CD's donated there and sells them across the world. "We sell them through Amazon through E-bay", Woodson said.
If your CD's are scratched up, don't worry-they have a refurbishing machine in the back that can get them back in playing condition in seconds.
So how much money can you make? Woodson says it usually runs 2-3 dollars a disk, and up. "But many of the items are 10-20-30, many dvd box sets are over 100 dollars", Woodson said.
And now through April when you trade your disks for cash- Abundatrade will give 10 percent of that total, to the Charleston Symphony Orchestra.
It also has some other green benefits by keeping CD's in circulation and out of the trash. So you can make some money, help the environment and save the symphony...all while cleaning out the clutter in your closet.
