
Local NewsBank Robbed With GasolineTracey Amick, Live 5 NewsMinutes after the South Carolina Federal Credit Union on Folly Road opened for business on Thursday, police say 41 year old Carl Lee Mikell entered the lobby to make an illegal withdrawal. Chief Operating Officer Troy Hall rushed to the James Island branch when he heard the news. "The guy when he first came in announced he wanted cash and he had a flammable liquid with him he was right there by the greeting station when he made that announcement", Hall said. Making his threat even stronger the suspect poured gasoline on the carpet and chairs and other items that were removed and put outside- and fans were placed inside the credit union to clean the air. The suspect took off with some cash, and employees were shaken up, but no one was hurt. But police say before Mikell left he made one huge mistake. |
