DORCHESTER COUNTY, SC (WCSC) -Dorchester County sheriff's deputies are looking for 21 year old Aljerrod Smalls. Smalls is wanted on charges of Armed Robbery and Lyching. Detectives say Smalls pistol whipped and robbed a man outside Tobacco and Beer Outlet off Ashley Phosphate Road on March 20th.
He's incredibly dangerous. Anyone that commits armed robbery with any type of weapon should be handled with caution," said Dorchester County Sheriff's Captain James Nettles.
Detectives believe Smalls hit the victim in his head with the gun and then pushed the gun into the guy's stomach before taking about $200 from him. Nettles says the victim is lucky he wasn't killed. "Very lucky, very lucky and I believe the victim's well aware of that. Lucky that he wasn't shot himself."
Deputies say Smalls had help in committing the armed robbery. Witnesses got a good look at the suspects. Investigators were able to arrest Smalls' alleged co defendant, but Smalls is still on the run. When committing a robbery, not just taking the gentleman's money, but the pistol whipping. There's a lot to be said for someone that commits an act of violence such as that," Nettles said.
Aljerrod Smalls stands 5'8 and weighs 150 pounds. His last known address was 5701 Dundrum Street in North Charleston, but he is known to hang out in the Hunters Ridge neighborhood off Ashley Phosphate Road. If you have any information, call Crime Stoppers at 554-1111. You can remain anonymous and may earn a cash reward.
