CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) -Charleston police are looking for 37 year old Donna Jean Lott. Lott is wanted on three charges of Obtaining Goods By False Pretenses. "She goes into the convenience store, identifies herself as an employee of the convenience store chain, and said they needed cigarettes here at another location," explained Charleston Police Corporal Fred Bowie.

Investigators say Lott was identified on the store's surveillance cameras. They believe she may be selling the cigarettes to make some cash. "And with the price of them, now you're talking about a carton of cigarettes. You're talking about a pretty good chunk of change," said Cpl. Bowie.

Cops say it's not the first time Lott has pulled off the crime. They say she's done it twice before at a different West Ashley convenience store. "Pretty clever scheme. The store clerks probably need to be a little more alert to this," warned Bowie. "It's a brazen act, just certainly a brazen act."

Donna Jean Lott also is wanted on four bench warrants for traffic violations. She's known to hang out in the West Ashley area. If you have any information, call Crime Stoppers at 554-1111. You can remain anonymous and may earn a cash reward.
