Walter Hiott is a native of Charleston and is a child and adolescent psychiatrist. He joined Palmetto Behavioral Health in 2006 after spending 12 years on the faculty at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC).
Among his areas of interests are adolescent addictions, mood disorders (depression and bipolar disorder), anxiety disorders (obsessive compulsive disorder and post-traumatic stress disorder), Tourette's and Tic disorders, ADHD, oppositional defiant disorder, obesity, and the challenges of parenting in the 21st century.
Dr. Hiott also serves as the Medical Director of Youth Services at Palmetto Lowcountry Behavioral Hospital. Dr. Hiott is Board Certified with the National Board of Medical Examiners and the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology in Adult Psychiatry and Child & Adolescent Psychiatry.
