CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - Charleston police are looking for 47 year old Jeffery Vickers. Vickers is wanted on a charge of Burglary, in connection with the July 26th break in to Bessinger's Barbeque on Savannah Highway. It happened between four and five in the morning.
"He got in through a broken window, he broke a window out," said Charleston Police Cpl. Fred Bowie. "Could have been a crime of opportunity, knows the restaurant's closed, just going through the neighborhood. A target of opportunity and that's what he picked."
Detectives say the alarm system went off, but Vickers made a quick getaway. "It could turn into a violent crime quickly if somebody's inside, maybe the manager is in there working that time of day. It could turn violent very quickly."
Cops say they have proof that Vickers committed the crime. They don't want to reveal how he was identified as a suspect, but they're hoping you will help them lead them to the guy.
Vickers stands 5'10" and weighs about 175 pounds. Cops are convinced someone knows were to find him. If you have any information, call Crime Stoppers at 554-1111. You can remain anonymous and may earn a cash reward.
