Man on run since 2006 captured in North Charleston

NORTH CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - Leonard Bernard Goodwin, who was wanted in connection with the 2006 murder of Eric Robinson, was arrested in North Charleston at approximately 12:30 pm Sunday.

The North Charleston Police Department dispatchers received a call from an anonymous caller, who provided the location of where Goodwin was last seen and a description of what Goodwin was wearing.  Officers located Goodwin, who provided a falsified identification card, which led officers to continue investigating his identity.

After some time, Leonard Goodwin confirmed his identity and told officers he was wanted for Murder.  His identification was also confirmed through fingerprint comparisons.

Leonard Goodwin has been wanted for murder since April 27, 2006, when the body of Eric Robinson was located beneath the residence at 2136 Target St in North Charleston.

Goodwin was transported to the Charleston County Detention Center and is scheduled to have a bond hearing Monday morning.
