CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - The Charleston County Sheriff's Office responded to two fatal accidents early Friday morning.
The first happened at approximately 2:30 am at Ben Road and Honeyhill Road. The driver was travelling west on Fort Johnson Road when he lost control of the vehicle he was operating and struck two trees.
Deputies say speed appears to be the contributing factor in the accident. The vehicle in question is a 1994 fofur-door Acura sedan and the victim was the owner.
The Sheriff's Office also responded to Orleans Road at I-526 at approximately 4:30 am involving a struck pedestrian.
The driver of the vehicle was travelling South on Hwy 17 when a pedestrian crossed in front of the a moving vehicle. The victim was a 50-year-old black male.
There are no charges pending in this incident as speed nor alcohol appeared to be the cause of the accident.
