By Live 5 News Staff email | twitter

DORCHESTER COUNTY, SC (WCSC) - Woodland High School was placed on lockdown Wednesday morning for close to two hours when an intruder was spotted on the school's campus.

According to Joyce Davis, a Dorchester District 4 administrator, said an expelled student was seen about 7:40 am. When he was confronted, the student ran into a wooded area near the school.

Authorities have arrested the student for trespassing and say he did not have a weapon on him at the time.

Authorities with the school or the police have not yet identified the expelled student.
