ALLENDALE COUNTY, SC (WMBF) - A South Carolina Law Enforcement Division agent is on the other side of the law after he was accused of stealing gasoline.
Ronnie Smith of Fairfax, SC, has been charged with three counts of larceny and one count of misconduct in office after arrest warrants allege he used a state issued gasoline credit card to purchase gas for his personal vehicle. The purchases, according to SLED officials, were made between November 2007 and October 2009.
Smith was assigned to SLED's low country region and became an official agent in 1985. Smith was terminated from the law enforcement agency pending the outcome of his charges and arrest.
