MT. PLEASANT, SC, (WCSC) - Mt. Pleasant police are searching for a man who robbed a pharmacy Monday afternoon. Investigators say the suspect walked into the CVS on Highway 17 near Interstate 526 shortly after Noon and demanded prescription drugs. Investigators say the man claimed to have a gun and gave a clerk a note., demanding controlled substances.

A man who was holding a portable advertising sign outside the store during the robbery didn't see anything because he was facing the road at the time. "There was nothing coming out actually that shocked me until I saw the yellow tape and the officers come up so it was very quiet. It happened just like that, so fast," said Robert Miller.

Officers say the suspect appeared to be in his mid 20's. Witnesses said he stood between 5'6" and 5'10" and weighed about 150 lbs. The man apparently ran off after getting the drugs. We are told there were customers in the store, but no one was hurt. If you have any information, call Crime Stoppers at 554-1111. You don't have to give your name and may earn a cash reward.
