WALTERBORO, SC (WCSC) - In a community already on edge from a series of deadly shootings, gunfire drew the attention of investigators and residents in Walterboro Saturday morning. Now deputies are searching for a woman's boyfriend who allegedly fired multiple shots at her car as she drove away.

According to deputies, the shooting happened on Peurifoy Road near Walterboro. The driver, Latonia Bowman, stopped at the Horizon gas station at the corner of Highway 64 and Robertson Street to call authorities.

Bowman told deputies she was leaving her home when her boyfriend approached her vehicle with a handgun and fired several rounds at her. Several bullet holes were found in her vehicle but she was not hit.

According to a sheriff's department statement, Bowman said she and her boyfriend, Anthony Terez Frazier, 28, had an argument the night before.

Frazier's vehicle was found near Walterboro and he is believed to be hiding out in Ladson. He is also wanted on a Family Court Bench Warrant.

The shooting comes at a time when the Walterboro area is filled with law enforcement officials from the local, state and federal level after a rash of violence that left four dead and 11 others injured.

Saturday's shooting is not believed to be connected to shootings that happened earlier in the week.
