WALTERBORO,  SC (WCSC) - Deputies in Colleton County arrested a man Wednesday after responding to more reports of gunfire in the town of Walterboro.

Just before noon, deputies responded to the intersection of Francis and Savage Streets where they found a subject fleeing the area with a handgun.

No one was injured and the gun was seized by the deputies. The suspect was arrested and charged with the unlawful possession of a firearm.

Deputies are still investigating the incident and have not yet determined whether Wednesday's shooting was related to shootings last week that left three dead and eight injured.

Any information in reference to this incident or any of the recent shootings should be sent to the Colleton County Sheriff's Office.
