GREENVILLE, S.C. (AP) - Authorities say a 71-year-old man faces five sexual assault counts after children he molested more than a decade ago came forward.
John W. Speer was charged Sunday with five counts of criminal sexual contact with a minor.
Greenville County deputies told The Greenville News that several men and women told investigators Speer touched them inappropriately or had sex with them between 1985 and 1998. The victims ranged from 4 years old to their teens at the time.
Speer remained in the Greenville County jail Thursday an a $250,000 bond. It wasn't clear if he had an attorney, and a phone listing for him could not be found.
