Alleged Cop Killer Found and Shot To Death

SEATTLE, WA. (AP) -  A Seattle police officer fatally shot and killed the suspect in the slayings of four police officers over the weekend.

Authorities had been searching for 37 year old Maurice Clemmons since the Sunday morning shootings near Tacoma.

Dozens of police officers widened their search for Clemmons last night. Police fanned out over two counties, storming homes and canvassing city streets with dogs. Around 2:45am pacific time, a Seattle Police Officer recognized Clemmons.

Authorities say Clemmons received help since the Sunday morning shooting from a network friends and family. They gave him places to stay, medical aid, rides and money. The Pierce County Sheriff said those family members who did help Clemmons are expected to be arrested today. 3 others have already been arrested in connection to the shooting including the man police say drove away the car immediately following the shooting of the officers.
