One person shot in early morning North Charleston shooting

CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - Charleston County Deputies responded to the scene of a shooting on Azalea Avenue near Dorchester Road about 5 am Tuesday. One person was shot, said police.

Investigators shut down part of Azalea Avenue while they searched the area for evidence. In their search, they found almost 15 shell casings. They have not said how many shots were fired in the incident.

Information about the victim has not been released.

    One woman is dead after being involved in a traffic accident in North Charleston on Saturday morning. Melanie Bowman, of Summerville, was pronounced dead at the scene of a traffic accident on Blue House Road in North Charleston, near the Ladson area.     The identity of a woman who died in a fatal accident Friday morning has been released. Margaret O'Hear, of the Walterboro area, died at MUSC from injuries she sustained during a traffic accident.
