Larry Grooms dropping out of SC governor's race

CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - Senator Larry Grooms is expected to announce he's dropping out of the SC Governor's Race Tuesday.

On Monday the Lowcountry state senator tweeted "I am dropping out of the SC Gov Race - considering a Congressional run for Henry Brown's vacant seat."

Grooms represents parts of Berkeley, Dorchester, Charleston and Colleton Counties.

Grooms is expected to make the announcement at the start of the new Legislative Session in Columbia.
