North Charleston fire destroys home

NORTH CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - Volunteers with the American Red Cross are helping a family after their house was extensively damaged Friday at 12:30am.

The American Red Cross provided food, clothes and a place to stay for the two adults. The organization is also trying to help replace dentures for one of the adults.

The Red Cross has now assisted 629 individuals needing aid due to home fires during its fiscal year that began July 1, and 113 residential fire victims since January 1.
