GREENVILLE, S.C. (AP) — A winter storm watch has been issued across northern South Carolina as forecasters say ice and snow could be coming in for the weekend.
The watch is mostly for areas along Interstate 85. The National Weather Service says light rain and sleet is expected Friday afternoon before changing to snow after the sun goes down. Forecasters say the precipitation may then change to ice and freezing rain. Some ice accumulations could be damaging.
The weather service says it is still too early to pin down the details. Some winter weather could be seen as far south as areas along Interstate 20.
