COLUMBIA, SC (WMBF) - A man from Columbia has been charged Thursday with falsely representing a social security number, U.S. Attorney Kevin McDonald announced.
Daryle Lamont Barker, also known as Ramon Johnson, 37, of Columbia, was charged with the crime after he used his social security number to receive a South Carolina ID card. His actions, McDonald says, violates a section of Title 42 of U.S. Code.
Barker now faces $250,000 in fines and the possibility of imprisonment for five years - the maximum penalty for the offense.
The case was investigated by agents of the Social Security Administration, Office of Inspector General and South Carolina Law Enforcement Division.
