CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - Charleston Police are looking for 37-year-old Marsh Benjamin. Benjamin is wanted on burglary charges in connection with the theft of cell phones from the Carolina Wireless store on Maybank Highway on Oct. 30.

Cops believe the suspect's motive was to make money by selling the phones on the street. "Money can be made, certainly yeah. There's a market for them out there," said Charleston Police Cpl. Fred Bowie. "But the unfortunate thing, somebody pays the bill sooner or later."

Cops say they can pin the crime on Benjamin because of forensics evidence that was left at the scene. "Everybody is interested in CSI with shows like that, so it was done with that type of procedure," Bowie said. "It was things our crime scene recovered."

Bowie said Benjamin should be considered dangerous. "The citizens should be well alert," he said. "There's certainly a potential to be armed when they're doing something like that."

Benjamin's last known address was on Central Park Road on James Island. If you have any information, call Crime Stoppers at 554-1111.

You can remain anonymous and may earn a cash reward.
