Top NOAA official discusses budget in SC

CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) - A top official of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration will outline the proposed budget for the agency during a visit to South Carolina.

Deputy NOAA Administrator Mary Glackin will discuss President Obama's 2011 budget proposal on Monday with NOAA employees and the public. The agency has several offices in the Charleston area. They include the National Weather Service, NOAA Coastal Services Center, Center for Coastal Environmental Health and Biomolecular Research, and the Hollings Marine Laboratory.
