2 SC Highway Patrol troopers suspended, 1 jailed

SPARTANBURG, S.C. (AP) - Two South Carolina Highway Patrol troopers have been suspended after sheriff's deputies say they were involved in a fight.

Trooper Jeffrey Cassidy went to his estranged wife's home in Inman on Monday and forced his way inside.

They report Trooper Kevin Hull was in the home and locked himself in a bedroom as Cassidy approached.

Cassidy's wife told Spartanburg County sheriff's deputies her husband grabbed her and shoved her to a couch.

The report states there was an altercation between the men and Cassidy's wife called 911.

Hull said he didn't want to press charges.

Cassidy was arrested on a criminal domestic violence charge.

Public Safety Department spokesman Sid Gaulden says both troopers have been suspended while the matter is investigated.
