Man shot after police chase in Pelzer

PELZER, SC - PELZER, S.C. (AP) - A man was shot and wounded after investigators say he stole two cars, shot at two people and pointed a gun at officers following a police chase.

Anderson County sheriff's Lt. Garland Major told multiple media outlets that 20-year-old Brandon Earl Gosnell was shot in the arm Saturday and was being treated at Greenville Memorial Hospital. His injuries were not considered life-threatening.

Major says Gosnell is charged with robbery and carjacking in Anderson County where the chase ended.

Spartanburg County sheriff's spokesman Tony Ivey says Gosnell faces charges of assault with intent to kill, burglary, grand larceny, possession of stolen property and possession of a weapon during a violent crime in that county.
