Pair charged with counterfeiting, man also faces drug, gun charges

COLUMBIA, SC (WCSC) - COLUMBIA, SC (WIS) - Two people in the Upstate are charged with counterfeiting, and officials say one of them also faces drug and gun charges.

Acting United States Attorney Kevin F. McDonald said Derrick Lewis, 29, of Greenwood, and Felicia Roundtree, 31, of Greenville, were each charged with one count of passing counterfeit money.  

In addition, Lewis was charged with manufacturing counterfeit money, being a felon in possession of a firearm and ammunition, possessing with the intent to distribute crack cocaine and marijuana, and use and possession of a firearm during a drug trafficking crime.           
Authorities say the pair was responsible for counterfeit cash passed at stores in Travelers Rest last August, and that a later search in Greenwood turned up drugs and a pistol belonging to Lewis.
If convicted on all counts, Lewis faces a maximum possible sentence of life in prison and a $3,000,000 fine. Roundtree faces 20 years and a $250,000 fine.
