CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) - Development officials say a new product distribution center is locating in South Carolina, bringing the promise of 500 new jobs in five years.
Moulton Logistics Management of Los Angeles said Thursday it will invest $25 million in the new distribution center in Berkeley County northwest of Charleston.
The new location will allow it to be closer to East Coast customers and the Port of Charleston allows access to overseas markets.
The company provides order fullfillment services, including shipping products to customers ordering from infomercials, broadcast ads and the Internet.
It also handles retail distribution for companies including Wal-Mart, Target and Lowe's. Moulton plans to start hiring in South Carolina by year's end.
