MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) - Myrtle Beach Police are asking for your help to track down 48-year-old Carolyn Collenton Williams, who is wanted for 38 counts of bank fraud.
Police say the incidents occurred between June 2009 and October 2009. Investigators say the suspect was a private in-home health care provider for the victim's nephew at a residence in Myrtle Beach. They say the suspect stole a checkbook from the residence and cashed numerous checks at a local bank.
Officers say the check totals exceeded the amount of $21,000. They say the victim became suspicious when she received a bank statement in December 2009 showing the large number of checks cashed and their large amounts.
The checks were made payable to the suspect and bank video surveillance shows her as the person cashing the checks in question.
Investigators say Williams is 5'9" and weighs 200 pounds. Police say the suspect has ties to Myrtle Beach, Lake City and Georgetown. The suspect also uses aliases names of Carolyn Gilyard, Carolyn Nesmith and Carolyn Smalls.
