ANDERSON, S.C. (AP) - Two men have been charged with murder in connection with the 2008 shooting death of a South Carolina high school student.
27-year-old Demond Johnson and 21-year-old Travis Patterson were denied bail Friday. Both are also charged with assault and battery after investigators say they fired assault weapons into a group of teenagers at an apartment complex.
Two people were injured in that shooting and 16-year-old Jerry Mattison of Anderson was killed.
Anderson police spokesman Randall Williams says the men were arrested after an anonymous tip to Crime Stoppers. Police also are looking for Edwin Oliver in connection with the shooting.
