MYRTLE BEACH, SC - HORRY COUNTY, SC (WCSC) - Horry County police captured a burglary suspect in the act on March 12, and have linked him to twelve other burglaries.
Police said there have been several residential burglaries in the Magnolia Pointe Community in Myrtle Beach. Detectives with the Horry County Police Department have been investigating the burglaries since the first one occurred.
On Friday, March 12, Detectives were in the area canvassing when they observed a white male enter a condo unit. The suspect then came out of the unit with a flat screen television and laptop computer. The suspect placed the property in his truck, and began to leave.
Detectives stopped the truck and identified the suspect as 28-yar-old Ryan COpe of Myrtle Beach. It was determined that Cope unlawfully entered into the condo and removed the TV and computer. Further investigation has linked the suspect to an additional twelve burglaries that have occurred in the same community.
The suspect was taken into custody and taken to the J. Rueben Long Detention Center. He was charged with 13 counts of second degree burglary.
