Columbia International names Abbott as first AD

COLUMBIA, SC (WCSC) - COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) - Columbia International University has named Kim Abbott as its first athletic director.

The school made the announcement on Tuesday as it puts together an intercollegiate athletic program. The school expects to compete in the National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA).

Abbott had been the women's golf coach and assistant athletic director at South Carolina. She went to USC Beaufort in 2005 and became that school's first athletic director.
