Police respond to fourth bank robbery in a week

NORTH CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - Police responded to another North Charleston bank robbery Thursday afternoon.

According to police, a black male entered the First Citizens Bank on Rivers Avenue at 4:30 p.m. Thursday, presented a note to the teller indicating he had a weapon and demanded money. The teller did not see a weapon.

The suspect fled the bank with an undetermined amount of money.

He is described as a black man in his late 20s to mid 30s and was last seen wearing a white and blue striped polo shirt and a blue baseball cap.

This robbery marks the fourth in a week. Wachovia Bank on Orleans Road, Harbor National bank on Olde Towne Road and BB&T on Northwoods Boulevard were also robbed.

Detectives are working to determine if this subject may be involved in any of the other recent bank robberies in the Lowcountry.
