COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) - Clemson has turned to one of its former stars in Itoro Umoh to revive its women's basketball program.
The school said Monday it has hired Umoh to take over for Cristy McKinney, who resigned earlier this month after five losing seasons.
Umoh was all-Atlantic Coast Conference point guard at Clemson from 1995-99. She helped the Lady Tigers to ACC tournament championships in 1996 and 1999.
Umoh has been an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator at Penn State the past three seasons.
